This is my most recent guitar project, a Sunburst Les Paul built to late 1960 specs. It occurred to me as I started tinting the flame maple top that the emanating tiger-stripe flame reminded me of "Hobbes" from Bill Watterson's masterpiece "Calvin & Hobbes" comic strip; hence, the name of this beauty.
